Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and NowPlay ("we", "us") for your use of nowplay.gg and the games served under it. By creating an account or playing, you accept them.

Your account

You need an account to play ranked or casual matches. You can create one with Google, Discord, or a passkey. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to it secure — particularly the device holding your passkey.

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the EEA where local law requires it.

One person, one account. Creating additional accounts to manipulate ratings or to evade a suspension is not allowed.

Fair play

These are competitive games, and the rating only means something if the results are honest. You agree not to:

• Use a bot, script, or external engine to choose your moves in a rated match
• Arrange results in advance, or deliberately lose to move a rating
• Play on someone else's account, or let someone else play on yours
• Exploit a bug rather than reporting it
• Abuse, harass, or impersonate other players

Practice games against the bot are exactly that — practice. They are not rated, and nothing above applies to them.

Ratings, leaderboards and seasons

Your rating is calculated from your results. We may recalculate ratings, reset a season, or adjust a leaderboard where results were affected by cheating or by a fault on our side. We will not adjust a rating simply because you are unhappy with it.

Your display name, avatar, country, rating and match history are visible to other players on leaderboards and on your public profile. If you do not want that, do not play rated matches.

Enforcement

If you break these terms we may remove content, restrict features, suspend your account, or close it. For anything other than a clear and serious breach we will tell you why, and you can reply to us at support@nowplay.gg.

Premium

Some features may be offered as a paid subscription. Where they are, the price, the billing period and the cancellation terms will be shown before you pay, and those terms form part of this agreement. Paid features are not currently available.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you create — your display name, messages and bug reports. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the platform. You are responsible for having the right to use anything you upload.

Our content

The platform, its software, and the NowPlay name and marks are ours. Games available here may be based on published designs; where a game is used under licence, that is noted on its page. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the platform.

Availability

We try to keep NowPlay running and matches fair, but we do not promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, including retiring a game. A match interrupted by a fault on our side may be voided.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. What is removed and what is kept is described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of an unused subscription period unless the law says otherwise.

Liability

NowPlay is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be free of faults, that a match will never be interrupted, or that a rating will never need correcting.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Governing law

NowPlay is not yet operated through a registered company, so these terms do not name a governing law or an exclusive forum. Where a dispute arises, the law that applies is whatever the ordinary rules of your own country say applies — in most places, for a consumer, that is your local law. We will update this section once NowPlay is incorporated.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new version.
